Xiaomi is expected to announce two foldable phones in 2024. While Mix Fold 4 is expected to be released in the second half of the year, the company is expected to introduce the clamshell phone called Xiaomi Mix Flip in the first half. A new leak on Weibo revealed the chipset that will support the device.

Xiaomi will launch several Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 devices

According to a source in China, Xiaomi has several Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-based devices in the works. The leak suggests that in addition to the Redmi K70, an upcoming tablet and a small foldable phone from the brand will also feature the said chipset.

The tablet the leaker is talking about appears to be the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro. A recent report claimed that the Pad 7 Pro will have a 144Hz LCD display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and a square-shaped camera module like the Xiaomi 14 series. The small foldable phone with the SD8G2 chip that the leaker is talking about is the Xiaomi Mix Flip.

There is currently no information about Mix Flip’s other features. However, the diagram above shows that there will be a triple camera unit on the back consisting of a 3x telephoto zoom lens.

The IMEI database of the device, which appeared in September, showed that the model number was 2311BPN23C. There are speculations that the Xiaomi Mix Flip may launch alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in April 2024. It is also claimed that the first-generation Mix Flip may remain exclusive to the Chinese market. The device is expected to compete with Honor Magic Flip and Vivo X Flip 2 in the domestic market in the first half of 2024.
