Realme announced the premiere date of its new flagship Realme GT5 Pro: the novelty will be presented on December 7th. At the same time, important details about the smartphone’s camera also emerged.
Chinese source MyDrivers calls the Realme GT5 Pro the “king of telephoto photography,” and for good reason. For the first time in the industry, this smartphone will receive the Sony IMX890 sensor as part of the periscope module. Before this, the IMX890 was often used in the main cameras of various flagships but worked in conjunction with a traditional wide-angle lens.
Periscope modules typically use OmniVision OV64B and Samsung JN1 sensors; hence Sony IMX890 is 89% larger than OV64B and 143% larger than JN1. So it is the largest sensor in the periscope module. Meanwhile, the module will include a lens with F / 2.6 aperture and 3x optical zoom.
But naturally, not everything will be limited to this zoom: Realme talks about 6x zoom without loss of quality, while the maximum zoom will be 120x.
