Apple today shared a new iPhone 15 ad that focuses on some of the device’s camera features, such as taking a picture and then adjusting focus during the editing process. In the commercial, the band is working on the album cover.

One of the band members uses an iPhone to edit a picture of the trio in the group and uses portrait focus to focus on himself in the foreground, blurring his bandmates in the background.

He hands the ‌iPhone‌ to his bandmate, who rearranges the image to put the focus on himself, blurring the background and foreground and removing him from the image. The two argue over which image to use before getting the opinion of the third member of the group, who clicks to focus on himself and blurs the other two. After all, that’s their goal.

The video’s tagline reads, “Turn your photos into portraits.”

Standard images captured using the wide-angle camera on the ‌iPhone 15‌ or iPhone 15 Pro models support focus editing. Tapping the aperture icon in the editing interface allows you to adjust the amount of background blur using the slider. This function can be used even if the picture was not originally taken in portrait mode.

In a photo with multiple subjects, you can change the focus of the photo by tapping one of the people or objects in the image.
