In November, iQOO announced iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro in the Chinese market. While reports claim that the Pro variant will remain in the Chinese market only, the iQOO 12 was officially launched in Thailand today. iQOO 12 became the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone in the global market. Here’s an overview of the iQOO 12 5G specifications, features and price for the Thai market.

iQOO 12 5G features a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K 2800×1260 pixel resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 2160FHz PWM dimming, 3000 nits peak brightness, and 452 ppi pixel density. For higher resolution and in-game frame addition, the device comes with the company’s own Q1 graphics chip. Based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the smartphone is equipped with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

iQOO 12 has a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging. It runs on Android 14 with FunTouch OS 14. The brand’s India wing recently confirmed that iQOO 12 will receive three major OS updates and four years of security updates and will come virus-free. We hope the same holds true for other markets, including Thailand.

The camera setup includes a 16-megapixel front camera and a versatile rear setup that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Additionally, the phone has an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, VC cooling system, large X-axis linear motor and aluminum alloy frame.

Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, and IR booster. The phone measures 163.22×75.88×8.1 mm and weighs 203.7 grams. While the Chinese version of iQOO 12 offers an IP64 rating, there is no information about the IP rating of the global version.

Pricing details of iQOO 12 in Thailand show a price tag of THB 27,900 (~$790; ~Rs 65,800) for the single 16GB + 512GB model. There are two color options: Legend (white) and Alpha (black). In related news, iQOO 12 5G will be launched in India on December 12. A recent report revealed that the device will be priced in India at Rs 52,999 (~$635) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and Rs 57,999 (~$695) for the 16GB + 512GB variant.
