The new generation of Apple smartphones may gain an important feature that has been in many Android devices for many years. Always On Display.

For the first time in the current generation, Apple used high-speed displays for the iPhone. In particular, they can change the frequency from 10 to 120 Hz. iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max can get screens that can reduce the frequency to 1 Hz. This will allow Apple to implement an energy efficient version of Always On Display.

Ross Young, founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch research companies, expects this feature to actually appear on the iPhone. Also, about a year ago, the appearance of this feature was attributed to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, but for some reason Apple decided not to do it.

Always On Display was launched on the Nokia 6303 button phone in 2009 and then became more common in Nokia smartphones with Simbian and Lumia devices. Source
