Today, OnePlus officially launched its latest smartphone, OnePlus Ace 3, in China. It’s powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, so while it’s not exactly a next-gen flagship, it offers plenty of power for its $370 price tag.
For example, OnePlus Ace 3 received an OLED BOE X1 display, which is no worse than OnePlus 12. The screen is characterized by a diagonal of 6.78 inches, a resolution of 2780×1264 pixels and a frame rate of 120 Hz. Screen protection is provided by strong Gorilla Glass Victus 2, PWM adjustment frequency – 2160 Hz, peak brightness – 4500 cd/m2.
SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 received a large evaporation chamber (area 9140 mm²), so the developers managed to squeeze maximum performance (1.74 million points in AnTuTu). The smartphone received LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 memory. The creators say that, thanks to the new data storage technology they developed, the OnePlus Ace 3 will work as fast for four years as if it was fresh out of the box today.
The OnePlus Ace 3 camera is represented by three sensors with a resolution of 50, 8 and 2 MP. The main sensor is Sony IMX890, it implements an optical image stabilization system with its module. The ultra-wide lens module uses a Sony IMX355 sensor.
OnePlus Ace 3 became the world’s first non-gaming smartphone with a 5500 mAh large capacity battery. 100W fast charging is supported, but there is no wireless charging support.
Prices are as follows: 12/256GB – $370, 16/512GB – $425, 16GB/1TB – $495. In three weeks the world premiere of OnePlus Ace 3 will take place: in foreign markets the smartphone will be presented as OnePlus 12R.
