In October, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro smartphones. However, there have been rumors of a high-end Ultra variant for a while now. Although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed its existence, new hands-on images of the device have been leaked.
In the photos thought to have been taken during the first tests of the camera, it can be seen that the phone was stored in a protective case. This hides the overall design, but there is a noticeable camera bump with a periscope lens at the bottom right.
In these images, the phone can be seen compared to the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Vivo X100 Pro and also shares a frame similar to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Apart from the visible features, the most interesting details are found on the white label on the back of the phone.
It has “N1”, “P2” and “EU” signs that offer cryptic clues. by words xiaomiui“N1” is consistent with the expected model number for the Leica-branded flagship, further strengthening the possibility that this is indeed the 14 Ultra. “P2” means it’s a prototype, an early iteration that’s not yet finished, while “EU” hints at a potential global version aimed at European markets.
While the camera module itself remains largely hidden, we can expect the familiar circular design with four lenses.
According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi 14 Ultra will have a 50MP primary sensor with variable aperture (Sony LYT 900 with OIS). In addition to the main sensor, a 50 MP telephoto lens, 50 MP periscope lens and 50 MP ultra-wide lens are expected to complete the package.
The leak also suggests a possible titanium frame upgrade for the 14 Ultra. It will replace the aluminum used in the regular 14 Pro. Two-way satellite connectivity is also among the rumors, and it is said that the phone may have a 5,180mAh battery with wired and 50W wireless charging support. Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to be released alongside the Xiaomi Pad 7 series in April 2024.
