The 1.03-inch diagonal OLEDoS display has a square panel made by depositing organic materials onto a silicon wafer. Having a sub-pixel RGB structure makes it the world’s first display of this type.

What is known about the innovative display

The innovative display promises realistic and vivid visual experiences by eliminating the need for a separate light source.

Despite the presentation, Samsung Display did not reveal specific technical details about its OLEDoS display. It is estimated that the 1.03-inch panel may have a resolution of 2,500 × 2,500 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Samsung is expected to include these OLEDoS displays in its XR headset, which is scheduled to be released next year.

Industry insiders speculate that Samsung’s XR headset could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor and run on a version of Android that Google has developed specifically for the XR headphones.
