Apple may have issues with the iPhone 14 launch – so the September rollout could happen later. The new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in China is to blame.
Factories in China are suspending their work due to the spread of the virus, which could delay the start of production of Apple’s future flagships by three weeks. Chinese companies Luxshare, Foxconn and Pegatron assemble the iPhone 14 – they have been hit hard by Covid-19.
Even after the quarantine restrictions are eased, there is no guarantee that the iPhone 14 will not be short of supply in the world market. If the situation remains unchanged, Apple could experience a delay of up to $8 billion in the production of future smartphones.
And although the iPhone 14 has yet to be unveiled to the public, insiders have revealed almost all the details and flagships. The line will be offered in 4 versions – the basic iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will go on sale. This year, the company wants to increase the technological difference between the regular editions and the Pro models.
