Samsung will hold the Galaxy Unpacked event next week. The company will introduce a series of flagship smartphones, Galaxy S24. Here’s a detailed breakdown of everything we know about the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models.
Both the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ have an updated design compared to the previous generation. Like the previous generation, both phones have a glass back and metal frame. The back features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Armor paired with an aluminum Armor frame. It also has a triple camera setup on the back and a center-aligned hole on the front for the selfie camera. The vanilla version is said to weigh just 167 grams and be 7.6mm thick, while the Galaxy S24+ might weigh 196 grams and be just 7.7mm thick.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 has a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that offers 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Full HD+ resolution, Always On, Eye Comfort Shield and Vision Booster. Samsung Galaxy S24+ features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that supports QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, Always On feature, Vision Booster, and Eye Comfort Shield. The screen is surrounded by minimal frames, according to recently revealed images.
According to the latest reports, the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will be powered by the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It is worth noting that the version of the Snapdragon smartphone is intended only for the US and Canadian markets. Meanwhile, the rest of the world will get the Exynos 2400 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM.
While the Plus model is expected to have 256 or 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage space, it is stated that the basic model can offer 128 or 256 GB storage space. A 4,000mAh battery can charge the Galaxy S24, which is expected to offer 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging. Both battery and charging speed are expected to increase compared to the vanilla version of the Galaxy S24+.
This model is powered by a larger 4900mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging. Other important features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, USB (Ultra Wideband) support, Samsung Health, Wireless Samsung DeX, Wireless PowerShare, Bixby Assistant, Secure Folder, Samsung Knox, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. Another important component of the Galaxy S24 series is support for satellite communication technology. They will run on Android 14 with custom One UI 6.1 out of the box and offer various artificial intelligence-supported features.
The camera settings on the two premium phones are almost identical. There is a triple camera setup on the back consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front, there is a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls, and this camera also offers dual-pixel autofocus. Notable camera features include night video, Super HDR, 8K recording and many other shooting modes.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in various color options, including orange, purple and white. In a previous report, we mentioned the pre-order details and advantages of the Galaxy S24 series.
It looks like the South Korean tech giant will be offering a free upgrade that doubles the memory of the model you pre-order. So if you pre-order for the 128GB model, you will get the 256GB version.
We can even expect the brand to offer discounts on Galaxy Buds FE and Galaxy Watch models with the purchase of the Galaxy S24 series smartphone. Rumor has it that the Galaxy S24 will have a starting price of 899 euros (about $984), while the Galaxy S24+ may have a price of 1,149 euros (about $1,257).
