According to information released today by technology analyst Jeff Pu, Apple’s new generation iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will have 8 GB RAM, down from 6 GB RAM on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Pu confirmed in a research note with investment firm Haitong International Securities that he believes all iPhone 16 models will be equipped with 8GB of RAM. Increasing RAM can help improve multitasking performance on iPhone.
iPhone 15 model range:
- iPhone 15: 6GB
- iPhone 15 Plus: 6GB
- iPhone 15 Pro: 8GB
- iPhone 15 Pro Maximum: 8GB
According to Pu, iPhone 16 series:
- iPhone 16: 8GB
- iPhone 16 Plus: 8GB
- iPhone 16 Pro: 8GB
- iPhone 16 Pro Maximum: 8GB
Pu also expects the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus to support Wi-Fi 6E, which operates in the 6GHz band, providing faster wireless speeds and reducing signal interference with a compatible router. Wi-Fi 6E for the iPhone 15 series is limited to Pro models. Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 16 series in September.
