Xiaomi’s big bet for 2024 has already been realized and focuses on the mid-range. The company didn’t want to wait too long to show the world the evolution of its popular Redmi Note family of phones, and it’s doing so with the new Redmi Note 13, with five phones ranging in features and price to suit all kinds of audiences.

We have already been able to test them at Xataka and in the next lines we will tell you all the news, differences and prices we found between them so that there is no doubt. Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 13 family consists of five members:

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 4G
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G

It is a matter of curiosity how Xiaomi continues to bet on including phones without 5G connectivity in its catalog for another year. The main explanation is that these are devices with similar features to those with 5G, available at a cheaper price and dedicated to the pockets of users who do not prioritize this type of technology.

Let’s start by talking about the similarities we found between the five new Xiaomi phones. They are the most important phones for Xiaomi on a commercial level because they are cheaper models that include enough features to handle the daily tasks that most users have.

More screens and matte surfaces

The five Redmi Notes of 2024 offer some minor changes in design compared to the previous generation. They are flatter phonesExcept for the Pro + model, which in this case has a curved screen at the edges and therefore stands out from the rest, thanks to a less pronounced curvature of the corners.

Redmi Note 13 27

I’m happy to say that the “non-professional” models make better use of the screen than in previous years and have finally said goodbye to that striking lower jaw that we found in past generations of this family. In this way, it gains presence and the “whole screen” feeling is better achieved in all models, except for the front camera, which continues to be the hero of the screen and is centered on the top frame.

All models now have a matte backSome of them have a shine effect, glitter, but in general the nice touch that these terminals had last year is preserved. Of course, depending on the model, you will see how Xiaomi has chosen different designs, which mainly affects the design and integration of the camera module.

Redmi Note 13 9

Xiaomi continues to be a fan of integrating 6.67-inch panels for its mid-range phones, and in addition to this size, the Redmi Note 13 also has five AMOLED technology, 120Hz refresh rate and has a maximum peak brightness of 1,800 nits.

Base price drops and megapixels increase

It’s time to talk about the differences of each of these phones, which we can divide into four large sections: Processor, Camera, Fast charging and Price. There is very good news about the price: Xiaomi lowers the starting price If we compare the features of these five phones with the starting price of Redmi Note 12, they seem more economically attractive.

Redmi Note 13 18

We start with the most modest of the family, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 4G. Compared to the previous generation, it is the phone that has undergone the least changes. It retains the display, battery, fast charging technology sections and the same processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 685.

This phone was chosen along with Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ with its brand new rear design. The difference is that the camera sensors are no longer integrated into a square area as in the pro models of the family, but we now have two large independent sensors and a third, smaller sensor on the right side. flash integrated below. In fact, it is a design very similar to that of the recently introduced Poco M6 Pro.

Redmi Note 13 1

If we talk about performance, the only change we have in this model compared to the last generation is; Main camera switches from 50MP sensor to 108MP sensorBut other than that, we are faced with the same phone.

The main advantage of this Redmi Note 13 4G is that it is the cheapest, starting at 199 euros for the version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and rising to 249 euros for the 8GB version. 256 GB storage space.

We move on to talking about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G, a Mediatek Dimensity 6080 phone that is very similar to the one we just saw but has a different processor and allows 5G connection. For the rest, it is a feature-based terminal and also the premiere of the 108MP main sensor in the camera. The rear design is similar to that of the last generation.

50 euro difference between 4G and 5G versionsSo this phone starts from 299 euros in the configuration with 8GB RAM and 256 euros of storage.

We go a step further to talk about the Pro models, which have some similarities, such as the integration of eSim card support. All three share a feature that will attract the attention of many. The main camera sensor has 200 MP with optical image stabilization. According to the company, this high resolution somehow replaces the lack of a telephoto lens in the camera, helping to zoom in on images obtained by cropping.

Redmi Note 13 16

Redmi Note 13 Pro with 4G comes with very similar features to its younger siblings, except for one 67W fast charging and 200MP main sensor. This phone shares the design with the Redmi Note 13 4G and comes in purple, among others, which I personally love. The price of this model starts from 349 euros for the version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. 399 euros for the version with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

When we go to the model with 5G, we find very similar features as always in these families, but its processor Snapdragon 7S Gen 2 allows you to enjoy 5G connection. Otherwise, this model stands out by having a 5,100 mAh battery instead of 5,000, which we can charge with a 67W charger, something we will not notice much.

The price of this phone starts from 399 Euros for the version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and from 449 Euros for the version with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G spoils the aesthetics

Redmi Note 13 24

Let’s come to the crown jewel of this family, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro + 5G, undoubtedly the most striking phone of the five. As I mentioned, its design breaks away from the aesthetics of the other four models because It is a phone with a curved front and back.. In fact, it is the company’s first phone with this design in this price range. It feels nice to the touch and is lighter than it looks. If you’re a fan of these types of panels you’ll love it, but if not you’ll miss the straighter lines and flat screen. The back part has more color tones, slightly different from the 4G models, giving it a very young and beautiful appearance.

The Pro+ model, which comes with the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor with 4nm architecture to reveal all its power, goes directly to the market with a version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, as well as a model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. 512GB storage.

Its features include a 120W fast charger, the 200MP sensor we mentioned earlier, and IP68 certificationcompared to IP54 of other models.

We can take this new Xiaomi phone home for 449 Euros for the version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and for 499 Euros for the version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

A range covering increasingly more prices

Redmi Note 13 25

Xiaomi is determined to continue developing its middle class for another year and does so without missing a beat; To continue its strategy of reaching as many people as possible, it is bringing five phones at once to its newly released 2024 showcase. Reducing the starting price compared to last year. The Redmi Note 13 is still a logical evolution of what we already know, and we weren’t expecting anything spectacular. But it is not necessary to remain the company’s best-selling family to date.

We want to continue testing the new crop of Xiaomi phones to see how each one performs. The jump in resolution of camera sensors is what stands out the most in this new generation, and I’m personally curious to see how different processors cope with the demands of MIUI 14.

We are currently continuing this customization layer based on Android 13 and we don’t know when we will be able to enjoy HyperOS on these new Redmi’s. The performance of the phone has always been one of the things that needs improvement in the Redmi Note with this layer of customization and it looks like we can have some good news this year thanks to the RAM configurations.
