We saw this feature for the first time at the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 last week. The “circle to search” function offered a striking new way to search for information. There’s good news: It’ll be coming to Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro soon.
“Environment for search” begins its triumph. The Samsung Galaxy S24 will be available on January 31, which is the same date that Google will also start offering this functionality on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Easy access. To use the function on the Pixel, all you have to do is press and hold the Pixel’s home button or navigation bar. From here we can circle things that interest us on the screen. You can even tap on the image; this will immediately show more information about that element of the image in the video.
Google Lens + Artificial Intelligence. This option is powered by the feature that Google already offers with Google Lens, but it is also powered by artificial intelligence to deliver this feature called “multiple search” (“multiple search” or “Hybrid Search”). By circling to search, we can ask questions about that element of the image or modify the search. For example, if we circle a pair of pants we like in an image, we can add the word “blue” so Google will try to search for those pants or similar ones in that color.
Google search engine is being strengthened. Many may have complained that Google’s search engine is no longer as relevant as it used to be, but these features will increase the use of Google on mobile devices. Additionally, since these search-related purchases will strengthen its advertising business, they will do so in a region that is attractive to the firm.
And also Magic Writing. This new functionality will come with an update that will include another new feature called “Magic Creation” or “Magic Creation”. Google’s generative artificial intelligence will allow you to write the same message in different tones. This function will be available for Pixel 6 and later models, allowing us to make our messages shorter, more professional and even more “theatrical”. On the Pixel 8, this feature is also supported by the “pocket” LLM Gemini Nano, which allows everything to run natively directly on the device.
From emojis to photomojis. If that wasn’t enough, the generative AI integrated into this update also allows us to create emojis from our photos. Google calls these “photomojis,” and what they do is essentially remove the background and turn an object, animal, or person that appears in our photos into a unique emoji that will be saved in our library.
Quick Share and more. This update will also include the arrival of Quick Share (formerly Share Nearby) functionality, which lets you quickly share images, files, and text from the Pixel to Android, Chrome OS, and Windows devices.
