While the Samsung Galaxy S24 series has been making headlines for its AI-powered features, OnePlus has quietly introduced its own AI offerings with its latest ColorOS update in China.
The update is valid for OnePlus 12 and 11 models in the Chinese market. The firmware version for OnePlus 11 is PHB110_14.0.0.403(CN01), while for OnePlus 12 it is PJD110_14.0.0.405(CN01). While this update isn’t as comprehensive as Samsung’s offering, it does add three productive AI features.
The first is the AI Summarizer, which can create phone call summaries containing important information such as time, location, and other important details.
Next up is AIGC Remover, an image editor that lets you remove unwanted people or objects from your photos, similar to AI photo editing on Samsung and Google Pixel devices. Finally, OnePlus offers an Article Summary feature that provides quick summaries of articles with one tap.
In addition to AI, the update also offers the ability to unlock the phone using the fingerprint scanner without waking the screen from sleep mode. Users can now control QQ music on the always-on display, and there is also the option to display the screen recording indicator in the status bar or in a floating window.
The OnePlus 12 update not only improves the stability and compatibility of Bluetooth, NFC and WLAN networks, but also solves the problem of network signals in places like the metro. You can see all the update changes in the screenshot below.
As mentioned above, these AI features are currently only available in the Chinese version of ColorOS. However, since ColorOS shares a similar foundation with the globally used OxygenOS, there is a possibility that it will be available on global OnePlus 12 and 11 models in the future.
