Foldable phone sales are growing rapidly around the world, but the boom is especially true in China. There’s a clear hero here: Huawei, a company that plans to take the next step in this technology with the development of a phone that can be tripled, according to Icsmart.
Its arrival will not be that far off, as a launch is rumored to take place in the second quarter of this year. The remaining panel manufacturers will also benefit from this development.
According to the source, Huawei’s triple-screen folding phone would be different from all concepts seen to date. It went from two screens to three to achieve this triple fold, but there are currently no details on exactly what the design or combination of them will be like.

Previous concepts allow us to imagine what this phone could be like. Samsung has developed a Galaxy Fold that can be folded three times, a mechanism called z-folding. Others, such as TCL, have implemented similar concepts.
According to sources, Huawei’s foldable model will follow this type of accordion-shaped folding to some extent, with 18:9 format when closed (usual format for phones), 4:3 format when used in tablet mode, and 28:3 format. The :9 ratio is quite tall when used with the extended triple screen.
The goal is clear: to have three form factors in one phone. Since the mechanisms need to be copied in an offering of this size, Huawei would have already ordered the components to develop the necessary hinges on this phone.
There is nothing finalized about the launch date of this product. What we think we know is that there isn’t much left because the second quarter of 2024 is approximately when this risky proposal will see the light of day.
