ASUS ROG Phone 8 series hit global markets last month. The latest version of the Taiwanese brand’s gaming smartphones has ditched the gaming-focused design of previous generations. They look more like regular phones. The ROG Phone 8 Pro passed Zach Nelson’s (aka JerryRigEverything) terrifying endurance test.

ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro durability test

Those who follow Zack’s smartphone durability tests may be familiar with many of the details. It starts with the scratch test, which is quite common in almost every smartphone, where the ROG Phone 8 Pro received level 6 scratches and deeper dents at level 7. The gaming phone is equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro has a metal structure and scratches occur all over the phone during the scratch test. The device can withstand fire for 20 seconds, after which the pixels on the screen turn white.

Moving on to the main part of the strength test, the YouTuber tries to bend the ROG Phone 8 Pro from the back and front. With sufficient preliminary pressure, significant flexibility is noticeable. The rear bend also completely shattered the glass rear panel. However, unlike the ROG Phone 5 and 6, which failed this test, this phone was not jailbroken. Overall, the ROG Phone 8 Pro passed the JerryRigEverything test, and it’s not like you’ll be bending the phone too much in real-world use.

Zach also took apart the ROG Phone 8 Pro, revealing ROG LED lights, a larger cooling system, and more details.
