ZTE collaborated with SoftBank subsidiary Y!mobile to introduce the brand’s first 5G vertical foldable phone, Libero Flip. The price of this phone is 63,000 yen (about $420). With pre-orders now open, Libero Flip will hit shelves on February 29, offering consumers a glimpse into the future of mobile.

ZTE Libero Flip is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and offers 6GB + 128GB configuration

Libero Flip is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform. This device comes with single memory configuration consisting of 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The device has a huge 6.9-inch internal display, complemented by a comfortable 1.43-inch round external display with a resolution of 2790 × 1188. This external display supports a number of functions, including using the camera for selfies, tracking steps, updating the weather and controlling music playback.

On the imaging side, the Libero Flip has a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens. There is a 16 megapixel selfie shooting feature on the front. It is noteworthy that this phone can be tilted at a 60-110 degree angle, which allows you to place the camera on a table and use it for still, clear photos.

In terms of design, ZTE offers the Libero Flip in three stylish colors: gold, white and blue. This phone has a sleek 76mm wide body and a slim profile of 7.3mm unfolded (15.5mm folded). It weighs 214 g and has an IP42 dust and water protection class.

As for battery life, the Libero Flip has a powerful 4310mAh capacity and supports 33W QC4+/PD3.0 fast charging. The device can be fully charged in 73 minutes. For secure unlocking, this device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and facial recognition. With support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and FeliCa compatible NFC functionality, Libero Flip offers a wide range of connectivity options.

More importantly, in the context of the ZTE Libero Flip, another clamshell model from former subsidiary Nubia called Nubia Flip 5G with model number NX724J appeared in the IMEI database last December. It received 3C certification with 33W charging support yesterday. This Nubia Flip 5G could be a rebranded version of ZTE Libero Flip. However, no official statement has been made yet about the release date of Nubia Flip 5G.
