Huawei officially introduced its new smartphone today. The novelty is called Huawei Pocket 2 and surpasses its competitors in many parameters.

Huawei Pocket 2 received an OLED display with a diagonal of 6.94 inches, a resolution of 2690×1136 pixels, a frame rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 2200 cd/m2. The device once again gets improved hinges. At this time they became flatter, which allowed reducing the thickness.

Huawei Pocket 2 has full waterproof protection, almost the maximum level for consumer electronics is IPX8.

The main camera is represented by three modules. It’s basically a 50-megapixel sensor and a wide-angle lens with F/1.6 aperture and an OIS system. The second module has a 12-megapixel sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens, and the third module has an 8-megapixel sensor, OIS and a 3x optical zoom lens.

Huawei Pocket 2 received support for two-way satellite communication. The battery capacity is 4520 mAh and it supports wired charging with 66 W power and wireless charging with 40 W power. The proprietary HarmonyOS 4 was used as the operating system, and the hardware platform is based on the SoC Kirin 9000S, as in the Huawei Mate 60.

Pre-sales started today, retail is open from March 1. Prices are still as follows: 12/256GB – $1050, 12/512GB – $1100, 12GB/1TB – $1250.
