Windows 11 23H2 was released in October 2023 and introduced many new features and improvements, such as a redesigned Start menu, new taskbar, updated Settings app, and improved security and performance.
According to Microsoft, this update will provide users with a more modern and consistent experience across all devices.
What needs to be done?
The automatic update process will be gradual, and devices most compatible with the update will be prioritized using artificial intelligence technologies to reduce the risk of unexpected problems.
Devices that may experience problems due to the update will be moved to the end of the queue. Users can also manually check for updates through Windows Update settings.
Users who do not want to update to Windows 11 23H2 can disable automatic updates by changing Windows Update settings or using the Pause Updates feature.
Windows 11 23H2 is the second major update to Windows 11, released in June 2023 as a free update for eligible Windows 10 users. Microsoft plans to release a feature update for Windows 11 every year, along with monthly quality updates and security fixes.
The next update, codenamed Sun Valley, is expected to arrive in October 2024 and will bring even more changes to Windows 11’s user interface and functionality.
