It’s been a month since OnePlus introduced its latest issue series flagship to global markets. OnePlus 12 includes significant upgrades over the previous model. It includes a periscope camera, wireless charging, aqua touch technology and more. Now the flagship phone has gone through an intense JerryRigEverything durability test. This one is especially worth checking because OnePlus has a poor track record when it comes to the structural integrity of the OnePlus 10 Pro, 10T, and even the 11.
OnePlus 12 has the company’s Aqua Touch technology, so it can be used with wet hands. Those who follow Zack’s durability tests may know most of the details. However, this time, the YouTuber first starts testing the usability of the OnePlus 12 by splashing water on the screen twice. We also compare the iPhone 15 Pro with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Zach continues writing sentences using each letter of the alphabet on all three devices. It uses Scroll Text and regular smart suggestions. Aqua Touch technology was quite successful in OnePlus 12. Even the Galaxy S24 Ultra was also successful.
However, the iPhone 15 Pro completely failed the wet touch test. The YouTuber couldn’t even type a single word using this gesture. Additionally, the phone was logging incorrect entries by selecting the H option instead of deleting them. This is a reminder to iPhone 15 Pro users (and possibly even other iPhone users) that the device should not be used in wet conditions.
Zack moves on to the scratch test, where he starts scratching the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protected display on the OnePlus 12. As usual, it is scratched at level 6, with deeper grooves at level 7. The aluminum frame of the phone is scratched. tested, but the back is not made of textured glass. The camera sensors are also covered with thick glass, so users do not have to worry about the lens getting dirty. However, the YouTuber adds that an accidental hit could potentially destroy all the cameras at once. The optical fingerprint scanner works flawlessly after abuse.
Finally, the most stressful part of the durability test: Zack tries to bend the OnePlus 12 from the back and a slight bend is noticed. However, on the front, the device bends near the camera module and antennas. Fortunately, the device survived the bending test without major damage, unlike its predecessors.
