New announcements on Chinese certification platform TENAA have revealed that two Nubia phones are in development for the Chinese market. These devices were spotted under model numbers NX724J and NX302J. The first one is expected to be launched in China under the name Nubia Flip 5G. There is no news about the final name of NX302J. Here’s a look at what the two smartphones have to offer.
First, the Nubia Flip 5G (NX724J) will be the company’s first foldable phone for the Chinese market. This flip phone will feature a large 6.9-inch primary AMOLED display with a resolution of 1180 x 2790 pixels and a secondary AMOLED display of 1.43 inches with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. It looks like this device might share some DNA with the ZTE Libero Flip, which was recently launched in Japan.
Under the hood is a 2.4GHz chip that appears to be the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The device will have 8GB / 12GB RAM, 256GB / 512GB storage and a dual-cell battery with a capacity of 970 + 3210 mAh (nominal value). The device can offer 33W fast charging according to 3C certification. It has a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front, while its back shell is equipped with a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. The device measures 170 x 75.5 x 7.0 mm and weighs 209 grams.
Nubia NX302J 5G looks like an affordable device with a 6.56-inch HD + LCD screen. It will be powered by a 2.2GHz processor and 5000mAh battery. The device will offer 4GB / 6GB / 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB storage.
Interestingly, there is a 108MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back of the device. It has a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The dimensions of the phone are 163.6 x 74.9 x 8.95 mm and its weight is 205.5 grams.
There are no images of these devices in the TENAA listings yet. As for the launch, Nubia Flip 5G is planned to be unveiled at MWC 2024. Both devices are expected to hit the Chinese market in March.
