One of the most fun parts of MWC is wandering around the stands and finding interesting things. And one booth that’s always worth visiting is Energizer’s booth, not for its batteries but for its smartphones. Looking back, we will remember that five years ago the company (Avenir Telecom, the company that licenses Energizer mobile phones) introduced a monster with an 18,000 mAh battery. He’s back with a bigger, heavier, and more beastly mobile.
Energizer Hard Case P28K. This is the name given to this device, which is clearly a robust terminal, notable for its enormous thickness and weight. We are talking about a smartphone with a thickness of 27.8 millimeters and a weight of 570 grams. To put it in context, it’s thicker and heavier than three iPhone 15s stacked on top of each other. Needless to say, it has IP69 resistance and is designed to withstand things other phones can’t.
Charger? I am sad? It is not a coincidence that Hard Case P28K has this design. Inside there is a 28,000 mAh battery that promises 2,252 hours of autonomy, according to the company. stand byabout 94 days; or 122 hours of search time, approximately five days. Of course, everything will depend on how we use the mobile phone, but autonomy does not seem to be a problem. Charging may be possible since it has 33W “fast” charging. A battery this size will probably take quite a long time to charge at this rate.
Comparing with the previous one. The previous model, Energizer Power Max P18K Pop, was 18 millimeters thick, weighed 450 grams and had an 18,000 mAh battery. In its new model, Avenir Telekom managed to increase the capacity by 10,000 mAh by increasing the thickness by approximately 10 millimeters and the weight by 120 grams. And also make it rugged, because the previous model was not ruggedized, but rather a “big standard mobile phone”.
Otherwise the input range. The new Avenir/Energizer smartphone is an entry-level smartphone beyond its battery capacity and design. It includes eight gigabytes of RAM, a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 256 GB of RAM, three cameras and a 6.78-inch IPS display with FullHD + resolution. It is also included in the Android Enterprise Suggest program, which gives us an idea about the target audience of this mobile phone. It will be released in October 2024 and will be priced at 249.99 euros.
