Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors have long dominated Android smartphone performance rankings, but MediaTek’s rapid advances, particularly the Dimensity 9000 series, have leveled the playing field. The latest high-end chipsets of both Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300 are almost identical in terms of performance.

The Dimensity 9300 chip works in the most efficient smartphone Oppo Find X7 for the second month in a row, according to AnTuTu tests. It is ahead of its competitors with 2,195,036 points. The advantage of Dimensity 9300 may be the use of powerful ARM cores, specifically 4 Cortex-X4 cores and 4 Cortex-A720 cores.

In second place is the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The performance difference between the first two phones is only 37,000 points, which is a small difference in the flagship category. Asus usually releases D variants of its ROG phones with MediaTek chips a few months after the initial launch. A possible combination of gaming-focused hardware from the ROG Phone and Dimensity 9300 in a future release could add some interesting changes to the leaderboard.
