According to DxOMark, Xiaomi 14 has one of the best cameras among premium smartphones. The company’s latest flagship was recently launched to the global market and this rating indicates an improvement in the photography experience on this device compared to previous models.

Xiaomi 14 camera ranks 3rd in DxOMark

The camera testing platform gave Xiaomi 14 138 points. Photos, bokeh, video, zoom and other features were taken into account in the scoring. For those who don’t know, premium phone rating refers to devices priced between $600 and $800. As a reminder, Xiaomi 14 has a 50-megapixel main sensor offering OIS, f / 1.6 aperture and 1 / 1.31 inch size. It works with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with 115° angle of view and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with optical image stabilization and 75mm focal length.

During testing, DxOMark noted that the Xiaomi 14’s camera has several improvements over the Xiaomi 13. These improvements were attributed to the larger sensor and wider aperture. Xiaomi 14 was praised for accurately revealing the target in various conditions. White balance was fairly neutral, and the device managed to maintain a high level of detail in both photos and videos.

There was low photo noise, and even the telephoto sensor managed to retain good detail. However, the Xiaomi 14 suffered from flaws such as reflections and halos in photos. Noise was clearly visible when shooting video in low light conditions. At the same time, brighter scenes and background lighting resulted in lower contrast in faces.
