Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G received the same displays: 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panels with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate and 550 cd/m brightness2. Device screens are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. In addition, both innovations have the same design. However, the body material of the devices is different: The frame of the Galaxy A55 5G is made of metal, while the Galaxy A35 5G model is made of plastic. At the same time, both smartphones received IP67 protection against dust and water. Both smartphones are equipped with a 5000 mAh battery with 25 W charging support.
Galaxy A55 5G
Galaxy A55 5G is powered by an Exynos 1480 processor (four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.7GHz, four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and Xclipse 530 graphics cores on AMD RDNA 2 architecture). In the basic configuration, the smartphone offers 8 GB of RAM, as well as 128 GB of permanent memory, which can be expanded by supporting microSDXC memory cards (occupying the second SIM card slot).
Galaxy A35 5G is based on the 5nm Exynos 1380 processor, which was previously equipped with the Galaxy A54 model. The chip has four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz, and a Mali-G68 MP5 graphics core. Galaxy A35 5G offers 6 or 8 GB of RAM as well as 128 or 256 GB of permanent memory. The latter can again be expanded with microSDXC memory cards.
Galaxy A55 5G
Galaxy A55 5G has a 32 MP front camera (1/2.74″) with f/2.2 optics that can shoot video in 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps formats. The main camera unit of the new product consists of a 50 MP sensor (1/1.56″) with optical stabilization, a 12 MP wide-angle camera (1/2.74″) and a 5 MP macro camera.
The Galaxy A35 5G model is equipped with a 13 MP (1/3.06″) front camera with f/2.2 optics. This is a hardware system that is physically isolated from the processor and memory, intended to protect the most sensitive information. Knox software, which is also used to protect data, is also installed on the device. An optional auto-blocking feature protects devices from installing suspicious apps, scans devices for malware, and blocks suspicious commands.
Galaxy A35 5G
Samsung promises four years of operating system updates for the Galaxy A35 5G and Galaxy A55 5G, as well as five years of security updates. That’s two years less than claimed for the manufacturer’s flagship devices, but it’s still impressive for being a mid-range smartphone. Both devices come with Android 14 and One UI 6.1 interface.
The company has priced the Galaxy A55 5G with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB permanent storage at €480. Additionally, the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB version will be available for 530 €. A version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB permanent memory is also reported, but its price is unknown. The price of the Galaxy A35 5G starts at 380 Euros for the model with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB permanent memory. The value of the novelty in the maximum configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of permanent memory was determined at € 450.
