OnePlus North CE 2Released in February 2022, it recently received a new update called OxygenOS 13 F.53. The device was launched with Android 11 and has been updated to Android 13, the last major promised Android update.

However, it is said that the brand still continues to release security patches for the device and this update is exactly that. It comes with the March 2024 security patch that fixes two critical flaws in a system component. They could potentially allow remote code execution and give attackers unauthorized control over your device. The update also fixed vulnerabilities in various components that could allow privilege escalation or information disclosure.

The update also removes the background streaming feature in the Smart Sidebar. This was one of OxygenOS’ popular features that allowed videos to continue playing even when minimized or the screen was off. This feature reportedly violated YouTube’s terms of service regarding background video playback, so OnePlus removed the feature, according to Google.
