There are phones that are nice to hold and Moto G Power 2024 could be one of them. For $300, the consumer gets a good device with a leather back panel, headphone jack and wireless charging. Of course, the LCD screen is inferior to OLED and the quality of the pictures is not impressive, but this is not the main drawback of the phone. The whole impression is spoiled by a lot of unnecessary software (bloatware).
The application bar contains several “folders” that load automatically. These are essentially hub apps like Shopping, Entertainment, and GamesHub, each of which is a collection of abundant, mostly unnecessary apps. Disabling recommended apps opens the Discover app, which directs you to follow commercial links. “discover shopping opportunities”.
All these programs are created by Swish and the owner cannot choose to download any of them during the installation process. And to refuse to install a third-party lock screen, you will have to use another Glance service.
1Weather’s pre-installed weather app is full of ads and more feature-packed apps, as well as meaningful ideas like: “I love how the air conditioner has such high humidity” . When trying to remove ads, an offer to purchase the pro version for $4 appears. The program has a confusing owner history, so it’s difficult to figure out exactly who gave permission to track a user’s location.
An additional negative is the passion of all installed services for personal data – they want to be able to send messages on behalf of the owner, track the location and download applications. This application was first tested by Motorola on the Moto G Stylus 5G last year, and although it caused extremely negative reactions from users, it did not stop the company’s marketers.
Of course, an Android expert can remove most of these unnecessary apps in a few hours. But an inexperienced owner may not be able to rid himself of this useless bloated software. It’s a shame because a good budget phone is hidden under a layer of unnecessary programs.
