Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is the first Samsung phone to receive seamless updates

If you don’t know, seamless updating is a technology that Google introduced with Android 13. It allows you to install major Android updates on a separate system partition in the background. Once you’re ready, you’ll quickly restart to the updated section and minimize downtime.

This feature is rolling out now. In fact, Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is the first Samsung phone to receive the “Continuous Updates” feature. Thanks to this feature, A55 5G users will be able to download and install updates in the background and the changes will take effect after the phone is restarted. Thus, the waiting time for downloads is eliminated. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear when and in which regions this feature will be available for Galaxy A55 5G devices.

The Galaxy A55 5G is probably just the beginning of Samsung rolling out this feature. We expect to see this in many future Samsung models, including the Galaxy S24 series.
