Samsung is constantly improving its foldable device lineup, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 looks set to continue this trend of innovative improvements. Latest rumors about the device suggest that the foldable device may feature a titanium frame, just like the recently launched Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The news comes from a Revegnus tipster on X/Twitter who claims that the “Z Fold 6 is equipped with Titanium.” If successful, Samsung’s upcoming foldable device will be the world’s first device with a titanium frame.
Titanium is an extremely attractive material for smartphones. Its incredible power-to-weight ratio provides a premium feel while remaining surprisingly light. This is particularly useful for complex devices where weight has traditionally been an issue. In addition, titanium’s high resistance to scratches and dents can significantly increase the durability of Z Fold 6.
Of course, the rumors go beyond a potential titanium build. Word on the street is Qualcomm’s best Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor to date, excellent cooling, a redesigned hinge for smoother operation, stronger Gorilla Glass armor, and a slightly larger 4,600mAh battery.
The Fold 6 will have a square design and look more like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Although Samsung is tight-lipped, many people estimate that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be introduced along with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in mid-July 2024.
It is also said that an affordable version of the Galaxy Fold 6 is planned to be released around Apple’s iPhone 16 series. Although details of this model are scarce, it is said that it does not support the pen and may have a thinner design compared to the standard Fold.
