Samsung devices topped the top of the most popular sophisticated devices in the first quarter of 2022. This was reported in the View Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) report.

Sophisticated smartphone supply grew 571 percent year on year to 2.22 million units in the first quarter, according to DSCC. Despite the high figures, a record level was reached in the fourth quarter of 2021, when 4.2 million devices were sold. The market leader was Samsung with 74 percent share. Huawei took the second place with a share of 20 percent, followed by Chinese brands.

According to the results of the first quarter, the most popular sophisticated device was the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Huawei P50 Pocket also took place in the top 3. These three models make up 91 percent of the supply.

“Although 2022 will be a challenging year for the market, sophisticated smartphones will see strong growth,” said DSCC president Ross Young. According to experts, in 2022 the supply of complex devices will increase by 107 percent to reach 16 million units.
