The search giant has reportedly increased the corner radius of the Pixel 8a; This figure is now 128 pixels instead of 47 pixels in last year’s model.

2. It is reported that Pixel 8a will have a significantly updated screen

While the OLED display panel, resolution and screen size are expected to remain the same, this year’s Pixel 8a is said to have an upgraded 120Hz refresh rate and 1400 nits maximum brightness. To jog your memory, the Pixel 7 has a 90Hz display with a peak brightness of 1,070 nits.

3. Tensor G3 on board

Unsurprisingly, the Pixel 8a will be powered by Google’s latest Tensor G3 chipset, which also powers its flagship models. A mid-range offering should support some productive AI functionality. However, this all depends on the amount of RAM, as the Pixel 8 has limited Gemini Nano support due to its 8GB of RAM.

4. DisplayPort output and faster charging support

With the Pixel 8a, the DisplayPort output feature will be available across the entire Pixel 8 series, allowing users to mirror the phone’s screen to a larger display via the USB-C port. This feature is similar to Samsung’s DeX mode. According to the expert, Pixel 8a will also have a faster charging speed of 27W. This is a long-awaited update as Google stuck to 18W on previous generation Pixel A phones.
