Google Pixel 8a, the new member of the mid-range Pixel series, has been the subject of many leaks in recent months. Now the device has unofficially appeared in an advertisement for Google’s own Fi Wireless carrier service. The ad shows the dual-camera Pixel 8a in blue and white. But how can we be sure that this is Pixel 8a and not the regular Pixel 8?

Actually there are some signs. First of all, the Pixel 8 is not available in blue or white. Additionally, the design shown in the ad doesn’t show the microphone alongside the Pixel 8 cameras, so it’s pretty obvious that it’s the Pixel 8a. However, it is unclear whether the inclusion of the Pixel 8a in the ad was intentional or careless.

As for the specifications, the Google Fi ad didn’t reveal any new details. The ad focuses on Google Fi plans, not the featured device.

However, the specifications of the Pixel 8a have been rumored for a while. It is said to have a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with an increased 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is expected to feature the same Tensor G3 chip as the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, as well as 128 or 256GB of storage.

In terms of camera, we can expect the same 64MP OIS primary camera and 13MP ultra-wide lens as the Pixel 7a, as well as a 13MP selfie camera.

It is also mentioned that there will be faster charging for Pixel 8a. It is said to support 27W charging, which is a much-needed upgrade over the 18W seen on previous-generation Pixel A phones.
