Google is working on implementing a simple and useful feature that could be very useful for most Android smartphone users. It is a tool called Search for Google Phone app that allows you to easily find information about unknown numbers.

By default, the Google Phone app is installed on Pixel branded smartphones, but users of other Android smartphones can download the app if necessary. When the user of the program receives a call from an unknown number, he can select and highlight this number in the list of incoming calls and select the Call function in the menu. After that, the number is automatically copied to the Google search engine, which is recommended to be used to search for information about the owner of the number.

It’s hard to say how useful the Search function will be, since scammers often use alias numbers to place calls. However, many users had to search for data on unknown numbers on the Internet, and the new tool will make this process faster. The calling feature is currently available in the beta version of the Google Phone app. It will probably be available in a stable version of the product with one of the next updates.
