We get our first look at the Sony Xperia 1 VI. Well-known tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka Onleaks) shared CAD-based renders of the smartphone that reveal its design from every angle. The device will be the successor to last year’s Xperia 1 V. It seems inevitable that the Xperia 1 VI will be released soon, as there are frequent rumors about the device.

Leaked images of Sony Xperia 1 VI reveal its design and other details

Sony Xperia 1 VI will retain its general design like its predecessor. It has a flat frame, with the volume rocker and power buttons located on the right edge, the latter also serving as a fingerprint scanner. A dedicated camera shutter button is located near the bottom edge on the same side.

Sony Xperia 1 VI has a pill-shaped protruding camera module on the back. It includes three ZEISS lenses, including the periscope sensor. While there is a USB-C port and SIM card slot at the bottom of the device, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the top edge.

While Android phones have a bezel-less display with a notch in the middle, Sony continues to stick to the old top and bottom bezels that aren’t too thick. The device will have a 6.5 inch screen. It is stated that the dimensions of the smartphone are 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.4 mm. This means that it will be slightly smaller, wider and thicker compared to the Xperia 1 V. The report adds that this could change the aspect ratio from 21:9 to 19.5:9. This is consistent with previous rumors.

The renders do not reveal any additional information about the Sony Xperia 1 VI. Reports suggest that the upcoming offering will feature a 2K display with 4K downscaling. Leaked marketing materials have revealed 48MP main, ultrawide and periscope units with Exmor T sensors.
