ZTE introduced the relatively affordable Axon 60 Ultra flagship smartphone. The novelty is built on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and supports satellite communications with the ability to send and receive calls, as well as send text messages via the Chinese Tiantong satellite system. The smartphone is intended only for Chinese officials and the corporate market and will not be available to ordinary consumers.

Axon 60 Ultra has a 6.78 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The smartphone is based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 standard storage. On the rear panel of the device there is a main camera with 50 MP resolution and optical stabilization, a 50 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a macro lens, the features of which the manufacturer does not specify. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP.

Axon 60 Ultra supports 5G-Advanced (known as 5.5G) cellular standard, China Mobile’s new high-speed 5G network, offering up to 10 Gbps downstream and up to 1 Gbps upstream. Another notable feature of the Axon 60 Ultra is its dual system architecture: In user mode, programs run with limited access to increase security, while kernel mode provides unrestricted access to hardware resources.

Using multiple antennas allows you to connect to cellular and satellite networks simultaneously to improve data transmission, reduce latency, and improve connection quality even in areas with poor cellular coverage. Axon 60 Ultra has a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W wired charging. The device is protected against water and dust according to the IP68 standard. ZTE did not provide details about the pricing and availability of the Axon 60 Ultra.
