Galaxy S24 surpasses iPhone 15 in data transfer speed with 5G

Ookla, a company specializing in network infrastructure analytics, has published a report on the speed of operation of Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones with 5G networks. As it turned out, current Samsung flagships bypass not only past models of the Galaxy S series, but also representatives of the iPhone 15 family in terms of data transfer speed in 5G networks.

Ookla shared its latest test results in a blog post. The firm collected data from Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Europe and North America from February 1 to March 24, specifically comparing the Galaxy S24 series (and previous devices) with iPhone 15 smartphones.

“The Samsung Galaxy S24 family demonstrated a statistically significant lead in average 5G download speeds in seven of the 15 countries in this study,” says Ookla.

The iPhone 15 family topped average 5G speeds in one country, and Ookla emphasized that “speed differences between Galaxy S24 and iPhone 15 devices were relatively small in some countries analyzed.” But overall, S24 devices were ahead of the iPhone 15 smartphones.

In the US, S24 devices were an average of 34 Mbps faster than the iPhone 15 line:

The iPhone 15 family ranked fourth in Hong Kong, with S24 devices achieving average speeds of over 20 Mbps:

In the UAE, the S24 family beats the iPhone 15 devices by just 9 Mbps:
