Company HMD together heineken and creative company Bodega launched Boring Phone — a push-button phone with basic features and a transparent body in a clamshell form factor. It will be produced in a limited edition of 5,000 copies and will not be available for public sale, but will be distributed as part of the brewer’s promotions.
Manufactured with a non-standard design Boring Phone (“boring phone”) is quite real. It is equipped with a 2.8-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels) main display, 1.77-inch external display, 0.3 megapixel camera and 3.5 mm headphone jack. The phone supports calling and sending messages over 2G, 3G and 4G networks. There’s also a built-in “Snake” game – a reference to the fact that phone maker HMD retains the rights to produce products under the Nokia brand.
Boring Phone It will first be played on social networks in Great Britain, and after a while it will be played in other countries. Those who are not lucky enough to win will be asked to install a program that will “make smartphones boring” starting in June.
