Chinese Unisoc processors are often found in low-cost smartphones. A Check Point study found that these chips have a critical vulnerability.

According to researchers, the problem is observed in the firmware of the modem and affects Unisoc 4G and 5G chipsets. The vulnerability was named CVE-2022-20210. It can be used to block the device’s mobile communication capabilities. An attacker could use a radio station to send a garbled packet, depriving the user of communication.

The vulnerability was discovered on the Motorola Moto G20 with the Unisoc T700 chipset. However, this is not the only device at risk. Fortunately, the Chinese manufacturer has already acknowledged the vulnerability and released a fix. You should upgrade your Unisoc smartphones to the latest software version.
