We pretty much know what the phone will be like, but its price has been a secret until now! Tipster Paras spotted the smartphone at a Canadian retailer and revealed its value.
As you can see in the screenshots above the model Pixel 8a The 128GB model will be priced at CAD$708.99, while the top-end 256GB model will be priced at CAD$792.99.
The Pixel 7a was sold in Canada for CAD$599 for the base 128GB model. Yes, the Pixel 8a costs about 10% more than the previous model. However, the retailer’s listing does not reveal any other details about the smartphone.
Technical specifications of Google Pixel 8a
The design of the Pixel 8a has been revealed with multiple leaks and renders showing that it will look almost identical to the Pixel 8, with the familiar camera bump in the viewfinder and rounded corners. It will be available in a variety of colors including Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay and Mint. The biggest update to the Pixel 8a’s display is the switch to a 120Hz refresh rate, a first for Pixel A series phones. The screen will also consist of a 6.1-inch OLED panel with 1,400 nits brightness.
Like the higher-end Pixel 8, the Pixel 8a will be powered by Google’s Tensor G3 processor, but in a lower-clocked version. The phone, which will also have 8 GB RAM and Titan M security chip, will come with Android 14.
The camera is expected to use the same sensors as the Pixel 7a, with a 64MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 13MP selfie camera. However, you can benefit from some of Pixel 8’s new camera features such as Best Take and Magic Eraser.
Battery life has been a weak point for the Pixel A series phones, but the Pixel 8a is said to have a larger 4,500mAh battery with faster 27W wired charging compared to the Pixel 7a’s 18W.
It will also support 7.5W wireless charging. An improved battery statistics feature is also said to show details such as production date, charge cycles and battery health.
