Human Mobile Devices Global, known for its Nokia branded Android phones, introduced its new smartphones in the Pulse series. While these phones target a global audience, HMD also introduced a model specific to the US market called HMD Vibe. It is designed to appeal to budget users in the United States.

Technical specifications of HMD Vibe

Vibe runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, which belongs to the mid-range category and is suitable for daily use. Paired with 6 GB RAM, the device offers 128 GB storage space that can be expanded with a microSD card for those who need more space. Additionally, the phone has 4 GB virtual RAM.

It is supported by a 4,000 mAh battery that promises up to two days of use on a single charge. However, those who prefer fast charging may be disappointed that the Vibe only supports 10W wired charging. The screen has a decent size of 6.56 inches, HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The camera system is also quite simple.

There is a dual setup at the back consisting of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, presumably for portrait mode effects. There is a 5 MP front camera for selfies. All cameras include HDR, AI processing and skin tone optimization.

In addition, the phone has an IP52 rating, making it dust-resistant and resistant to light splashes. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0 and 4G LTE. In particular, there is no fingerprint scanner; instead, the device relies solely on face unlock for biometric security.

Price and availability

The HMD Vibe is priced at $150 and is scheduled to be released in the US in May. It will be available for purchase from major retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy, as well as from HMD’s website.
