HMD Global, the company that currently owns the smartphone license Nokia’s, it looks like Nokia is preparing to upgrade its 225 4G phone. The brand launched its first model Nokia 225 4G In December 2020. Now Android Headlines has teamed up with whistleblower OnLeaks to show off what the future model will look like.
Compared to the 2020 model, the new phone will have a more square design, which is the current trend in the smartphone market. Apart from the boxy look, the device will also sport a minimalist design on the back with a single camera, LED flash and Nokia and HMD branding.
On the front, the device is said to feature a 2.4-inch display with thick bezels and a standard phone keypad, perhaps the most notable change in this model is the presence of a USB Type-C port for charging.
The phone comes with 64 MB RAM and 128 MB storage; This is pretty standard for a feature phone and likely includes a slot to add more storage. It has a 1,450mAh battery, which is better than the 2020 version, and can potentially last for days on a single charge.
The rear camera can be upgraded to 3 MP from the previous 0.8 MP, which is a good improvement for such a phone. On the software side, the phone will run on the Nokia Series 30+ operating system, which means it won’t be able to run modern apps. But for those looking for a distraction-free phone, this could be a plus. The report also states that the Nokia 225 4G 2024 model could cost around €100 in Europe.
