Watch your fingers

There’s already a lot of talk on the internet about Tesla’s cybertruck having an unstoppable urge to bite people’s fingers off with its powerful trunk latch, but no one has been brave enough to stick a finger in there and find out what it is. Until now.

So far we’ve only seen miscellaneous vegetables and hand models crunching through the Cybertruck’s trunk, but a pickup truck owner named Jeremy Judkins decided to check it out himself. So he wanted to test a new software update that made the sensors more sensitive to objects on the road. But as it turns out, they are not sensitive enough to get rid of unpleasant sensations.

• It’s worth noting that Judkins put the oblong fruits in there first, and the car didn’t crush them like before.
• Then he upped the ante and stuck his forearm into the cybercar’s mouth. He’s under a bit of pressure, but everything is going as planned.
• He then places his palm there. The same thing happens. He puts some pressure on the door handle, but eventually it releases, leaving a visible line on the handle.

He finally does the stupidest thing – he puts his finger on it and immediately realizes that it was a mistake. The expression on his face speaks for itself. The car squeezes the finger hard enough until it moves the boot enough for the boot to realize something is wrong and open. The author of the video says he was “scared of her finger for a moment.”

The camera cuts away and in the next shot we see him shaking index finger with a very deep dimple. Luckily there was no blood, but the bruise will probably remain.

Judkins ends the video by saying Tesla still has work to do when it comes to detecting friction on the front trunk of a cyber vehicle.
