It has been said that Xiaomi has been working on new generation foldable devices for a while. The company will follow Mix Fold 3 in 2023 with Mix Fold 4 this year. It is said that Xiaomi’s first foldable phone will be Mix Flip.

Both foldable devices are said to have similar camera features. The primary sensor will be a 50-megapixel shooter with a 1/1.55-inch sensor area and optical image stabilization. This device will be accompanied by the Omnivision OV60A with a ½.8-inch sensor for the 2x telephoto camera.

Additionally, Mix Fold 4 will also feature a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 10-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The forecaster adds that the phones will have wireless charging support, although the actual battery size and charging speed are unknown. DCS says there will also be water protection.

This would be a welcome update as none of Xiaomi’s advanced devices currently feature water or splash protection. Finally, the insider hints that the foldable device has an exceptionally thin profile and will likely be the thinnest device on the market at launch. Other rumors regarding the Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip suggest that they will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC and will support satellite connectivity.
