Nothing CMF sub-brand, which stands for Colour, Material and Finish, is preparing to launch its first smartphone soon. A report published earlier this month suggested that it could be launched as a budget smartphone with a solid feature list. Now, a new leak from @realMlgmXyysd on X (formerly Twitter) has revealed the specifications of the upcoming CMF smartphone, suggesting that it will likely be a rebranded version of the Nothing Phone (2a).
According to a post on The report also claims that the device will have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
It is said that the phone will come with 8 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128/256 GB UFS 2.2 storage. It also appears to have a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion. Additionally, the leak claims that the phone will have a 50-megapixel primary camera as well as another camera on the back in a vertical layout. There will be a 16 MP sensor on the front panel.
There will be a replaceable plastic cover on the back of the device and there will be no Glyph indicators in this model. The operating system is expected to be Android 14 Nothing OS 2.5 and the phone will also support Widevine L1 certification for HD streaming. The phone will be available in black, green-blue and India-specific orange color options.
Additionally, the tipster states that the phone is expected to go on sale in July 2024 for between $249 and $279. This contrasts with a previous report that suggested a budget price of around 12,000 rupees (about US$140). The specifications are almost identical to the Nothing Phone (2a); This suggests that the CMF phone could be a rebranded version with some design changes. However, it is important to note that these specifications are taken from an engineering sample, so readers should take this information with caution and stay tuned for future updates.
