Many reports claim that Qualcomm will introduce the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip this October. There is a possibility that MediaTek will also announce its flagship product Dimensity 9400 in the same month. A new Weibo post from tipster Digital Chat Station sheds light on the fact that the first phones with the aforementioned chipset will be released in October.
Oppo Find X8, Vivo X200, Xiaomi 15 launch time
According to Digital Chat Station, several flagship smartphones with next-generation chipsets and 1.5K displays are expected to be released in October. He stated that the sizes of these phones will not be very large, and that he can only talk about standard models, and not “professional” variants of the upcoming flagship smartphone series of various brands.
He revealed that two of them will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset, while one phone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The emojis used in the post hint that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phone could be the Xiaomi 15. Other emojis suggest that the Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8, both with Dimensity 9400, will also launch in October. The leak also suggests that the Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8 will have a built-in periscope camera, while the Xiaomi 15 will not have this camera.
The Xiaomi 15 may be accompanied by the larger Xiaomi 15 Pro with the same SD8G4 chip. On the other hand, X200 Pro with D9400 SoC may launch alongside the X200. However, it is not clear whether the Find X8 Ultra will be released in October. There is a possibility that the Ultra model, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset and satellite connectivity support, will be discontinued in China in early 2025.
Reports also suggest that other Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 devices like the OnePlus 13 Pro, iQOO 13 series, Redmi K80 Pro, and Realme GT 6 Pro are also on the way. These devices are expected to be introduced by the end of 2024.
