This month, OnePlus began rolling out a major update to many of its high-end smartphones, bringing a host of new features, quality of life improvements, and bug fixes.


This month, OnePlus began rolling out a major update to many of its high-end smartphones, bringing a host of new features, quality of life improvements, and bug fixes. This update, called OxygenOS 14.0.0.802, has finally arrived for the flagship OnePlus 12. Below is the changelog listing the new and improved features in this update.


OnePlus 12 OxygenOS 14.0.0.802 Update:

New smooth animations

  • Adds wallpaper scaling and smooth icon transitions when launching and exiting the app for a smoother visual experience.
  • It adds a slide bounce animation effect at the bottom of the notification drawer and optimizes the effects of icon layers and quick settings widgets for a more natural and precise visual effect.
  • Optimizes transition animation for home screen icons and widgets and adds wallpaper zoom animation after unlocking the device.
  • Adds wallpaper zoom animation and gradual brightness transitions when the screen is turned on or off.
  • Optimizes background colors and Gaussian blur effects in quick settings, notification panel, home screen panel, and general search.
  • Optimizes the transition animation when the lock screen clock and buttons disappear after unlocking the device.
  • It optimizes animations when entering and exiting the global search, providing a smoother and more consistent visual experience.

A new touch control experience

  • Adds a transition animation when you swipe from one side of the screen to exit the app before it starts.
  • Adds a transition animation when you swipe from one side of the screen to return to the previous page before opening a new page.
  • Adds a transition animation when swiping in from the edge of the screen or swiping upwards to exit an app in landscape mode.
  • You can now tap the bottom right corner of the large folder to view more apps.
  • You can now drop app icons into large folders and then open an app with a single swipe.
  • Improves touch control response. Tapping and swiping on the home screen and recent tasks screen are now faster and more stable.
  • Increases touch sensitivity for app usage scenarios such as opening and closing apps, entering and exiting recent tasks, or swiping on the gesture control panel to switch between apps.
  • Optimizes animation when using large folders. Dragging apps on the home screen is now smoother.

System

  • Adds a horizontal layout to the lock screen clock.
  • Now you can hide the part while drawing the lock screen pattern to unlock your device.
  • You can now adjust the volume in quick settings.
  • You can now adjust the size of the floating window by dragging its bottom and swiping up to close the mini window.
  • Addresses an issue that causes the background image of the home screen to flicker after closing the app.
  • Increases system stability.
  • Optimizes fingerprint recognition.
  • Fixes an issue where speaker volume and Bluetooth headset volume may be low.
  • Addresses a display issue where the app icon on the home screen may shift slightly from where it should be after closing the app.
  • Integrated May 2024 Android security patch to improve system security.

Currently, the update is only available in India and a wider global rollout is expected soon. The update is being rolled out in batches, so users can expect it to arrive on their devices in the coming days.
