At the beginning of the last week of May, Microsoft released KB5037853, an additional update for the Windows 11 operating system. This update was aimed at improving Explorer’s performance and included 32 additional fixes aimed at eliminating known bugs. However, shortly after its release, users began reporting problems with their taskbars.

In his statement Microsoft acknowledged the problemexplains:

After you install this update, you may experience problems using the taskbar. You may notice that the taskbar is not working properly, becomes unresponsive, disappears and reappears.

The company also noted that the issue may be logged as an error in the Windows Logs section of the event log. Event ID 1000.

Why is this important?

The problem with the taskbar is a significant glitch because the taskbar is a critical component of the Windows interface that provides quick access to applications and system functions. Users have expressed frustration with this glitch as it hinders their ability to use their computers effectively.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has encountered issues with the latest updates.

  • Just a few days ago, the company released the KB5037849 cumulative update for Windows 10 version 22H2, which caused a multitude of problems. After installing the update, users reported that the Copilot shortcut moves randomly when multiple monitors are used and the taskbar does not work properly in portrait orientation.
  • Additionally, the update broke Microsoft Connected Cache when using DHCP Option 235, causing error 0x80070520 when trying to change the user’s profile picture.

Microsoft is working to fix taskbar issues caused by update KB5037853. By the way, it is recommended for users who are experiencing problems. uninstall updates or use system restore points, to return to the previous steady state. The company also encourages users to report new issues through its feedback center, which helps engineers identify and resolve issues more efficiently.
