ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced ROG Ally X, a new model of its popular ROG Ally handheld gaming console. ROG Ally is designed for gaming on the go on Windows 11. Paired with Armory Crate SE 1.5, which includes a new customizable game library and unified system updates, ROG Ally X lets you play all your games better than ever.

Along with this memory improvement, the new ROG Ally X now also comes with 24GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM for greater flexibility. Like any APU, the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme shares its video memory with the device’s system RAM. As modern games use more VRAM for realistic, high-resolution textures, 24GB of system memory allows users to allocate more memory to both the system and GPU for improved performance in next-gen AAA games.
Finally, a new ROG Ally And, despite a significant increase in battery life, ROG Ally. This makes it feel lighter than its 678g weight would suggest, making for comfortable portable gaming for everyone.
ROG Ally The buttons and levers are angled at a slightly more ergonomic angle, and the angle of the triggers makes them easier to press. The macro buttons on the rear panel have also been made smaller to reduce accidental presses while remaining easily accessible.
The joysticks have been replaced with a new, more durable module with a 5 million cycle lifespan and stiffer springs, delivering a response curve more familiar to controller gamers. The D-Pad has also been improved, now providing more precise eight-way input for fighting and retro games.
The vast majority of users demanded more versatile I/O, so the original XG Mobile port was replaced with two USB-C® ports on third-party ROG Ally external GPUs.
To accommodate the new battery, ROG Ally X features new fans that are 23% smaller but use 50% thinner blades for improved airflow. Two new tunnels in the fan housing direct air upward and outward to an optional third exhaust duct on the top edge of ROG Ally X. This new thermal solution allows 24% more air volume to flow through the device, cooling not only internal components but also the touchscreen. screen that maintains temperatures up to 6°C cooler to the touch.
