HMD Global, the company currently responsible for Nokia smartphones, seems to be really into nostalgia. Last month, the company brought back the classic Nokia 3210 smartphone from the 90s with modern features. Looks like they’ve done it again with another phone. We’ve previously heard that HMD is preparing something called Skyline. Now the first images of HMD Skyline have appeared on X, courtesy of a user @smashx_60.

The renders show a phone reminiscent of the Fabula design language first introduced on the Nokia N9. But I can’t help but be reminded of the iconic Nokia Lumia 920 thanks to its bright yellow color scheme.

While the design is just a throwback to the past, the specs seem firmly anchored in the present. According to a previous report, the Skyline will feature a state-of-the-art FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is a powerful mid-range chipset.

The rear of the Skyline will feature a triple camera system that includes a 108MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a macro sensor or depth sensor. The 32 MP front camera will take selfies.

The phone will have a powerful 4900mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It is also said to be IP67 dust and water resistant.

Modern conveniences such as an under-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers are also reportedly on the table. The software side is expected to include Android 14, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.

The HMD Skyline is expected to cost €520 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model and will reportedly be released in July.
