Xiaomi recently launched two phones in the Indian market: Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Civi. Although both phones share the name Xiaomi 14, they target different user segments with different features and prices. To be precise, the Xiaomi 14 Civi is a more affordable alternative to the Xiaomi 14.

one. Design and display

Xiaomi 14 Civi stands out with its elegant four-sided micro-curved design on both the front and back, giving it an elegant and premium look. It’s slim at 7.45mm thick and comes in three stylish options: Cruise Blue Dual-Slice, Matcha Green Nano-Tech Vegan Leather (7.75mm thick) and Shadow Black Classic Matte.

The Xiaomi 14, on the other hand, has a flat design with rounded corners and a frosted glass back, making it comfortable in the hand and visually appealing. It’s slightly thicker (8.20mm) but has an extremely narrow body (71.5mm), making it ideal for one-handed use. Xiaomi 14 comes in Jade Green, Matte Black and Classic White color options.

Both phones have impressive displays, but the Xiaomi 14 Civi takes the lead with its larger 6.55-inch 1.5K AMOLED micro-curved panel. It has a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. Xiaomi 14 has a flat TCL C8 LTPO 1.5K OLED panel with the same maximum brightness and 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, although it is slightly smaller (6.36 inches).

2. Productivity and software

Essentially, both the phones are powered by the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC for Xiaomi 14 Civi and Snapdragon 14 Gen 3 SoC for Xiaomi 8. These powerful processors deliver smooth multitasking, fast app launches, and seamless gaming. While the Xiaomi 14 Civi offers up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, the Xiaomi 14 comes with 12 GB of RAM as standard. Both phones offer a wide range of storage options; Xiaomi 14 Civi offers UFS 4.0 storage up to 512 GB, while Xiaomi 14 offers 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage.

In terms of software, both phones run Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14 and offer a smooth and feature-rich user interface. Xiaomi has committed to providing three years of Android OS updates and four years of regular security updates for the Xiaomi 14 Civi. Xiaomi 14, meanwhile, will receive four generations of Android OS updates and five years of security patches.

Xiaomi 14 Civi and Xiaomi 14 stand out in terms of camera with a triple main camera. Xiaomi 14 Civi has a 50MP main sensor with Leica Summilux lens, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 2X telephoto camera. This combination provides versatile photography, producing stunning photos in a variety of lighting conditions and offering excellent zoom capabilities.

Xiaomi 14 also has a 50MP primary sensor with Leica optics, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP 3.2X telephoto camera. The camera system is better than Civi’s and offers exceptional image quality and detail.

For selfies and video calls, the Xiaomi 14 Civi has a dual 32 MP front camera, including a 100° ultra-wide camera, while the Xiaomi 14 has a 32 MP front camera that can record 4K 60 fps video.

4. battery and charger

Xiaomi 14 Civi has a 4,700mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging, which promises a full charge in just 40 minutes. Although there is no wireless charging, fast wired charging ensures minimal interruptions.

In comparison, the Xiaomi 14 has a slightly smaller 4,610 mAh battery but offers faster 90W wired charging, delivering a full charge in less than 31 minutes. It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reversible wireless charging, providing convenience to users who prefer wireless options.

5. Price and availability

Xiaomi 14 Civi price starts from Rs. 42,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 512GB model is priced at Rs. Pre-orders for 47,999 started on June 12 and are in stores and online from June 20. Xiaomi 14 is available in a 12GB + 512GB configuration and is slightly more expensive at Rs. 69,999. It will be available starting March 11 through various channels including Mi.com, Flipkart, Amazon.in and Xiaomi retail stores.
